Why would you remain engaged with a world that you know is so full of threats and there's a high potential for pain?
Why would you batten down the hatches and shut it all out?

When our emotional wounds slay our curiosity, we lose a bit of the life in us.
We become dull - not just to other people, but to ourselves.
Everything feels less attractive, less exciting, and less worth getting up in the morning.
It is a completely understandable reaction.
But as scary as it might feel to step out into the world with a willingness to absorb anything that comes your way, social connection (identifying and maintaining a sound support system) is essential to healing.
When you approach your inner healing journey that willingness - some days, may even feel like a kind of playfulness.

So, here's a challenge
Today, find a new sense of acceptance of your own emotions and experiences.
Instead of thinking, "I hate it to feel this way!"
Try
"It's interesting that I feel this way."
"I wonder what else I'll find in there if I spend a bit of time with these feelings and look deeper."
Learn about yourself and learn about other people.
And open new doors.
Because even the ones that feel scary can be worth opening.
If you are willing to find out what's on the other side, you can create a whole new world of potential to be pleasantly surprised.
