Imposter syndrome is an internal experience of believing that you are not good enough and not as competent as others perceive you to be.

It is a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persists despite evident success.

It involves feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that loop despite your education, experience, and accomplishment.

Imposter syndrome occurs equally between men and women.

It is highly attributed to family traits and personality traits such as:

✅ the perfectionist

✅ the natural genius

✅ the expert

✅ the soloist and

✅ the superman or superwoman

Families that value achievement above all else, contribute to individuals developing the syndrome. Likewise, families are characterised by low support and conflict.

Every time you have negative thoughts about your abilities and wonder if you are qualified enough for a job, here’s what you do:

🦋 Question yourself. Am I qualified enough?

🦋 Reframe your thinking. Is this feeling real? Is this feeling valid?

🦋 Embrace success. List all your successes and resonate with it.

🦋 Talk it out. Get an outside perspective. Find a coach or a mentor

🦋 Show self-compassion. Reflect on your feeling, shift it to a more constructive way.

Because,

Imposter syndrome is just a feeling that comes with self-doubt. It came about from an experience that have caused you not to see your worth and value.

It’s a trauma response that is causing fear, shame, anxiety, depression, burnout, and low self-esteem.

Fret not.

Because there is a massive difference between someone who is as qualified as you, doubting yourself

Than

Someone who claims to be someone who they are not.

There is a massive difference between an IMPOSTER and someone who suffers from IMPOSTER SYNDROME.

"Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of us all".

In the absence of jargon, you will just be fine.

"Coz when tested and observed, the other easily looses its' aine.
